This season hasn't been kind to the Samson Tigers, who are still winless after their 14th matchup. They were dealt a 74-18 defeat at the hands of Cottondale on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Samson has scored all season.
Cottondale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Nettles led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Tramond Collins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Samson's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cottondale, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Samson is on the road again on Friday and play against Malone at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Malone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. Cottondale won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Blountstown at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Blountstown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
