The Aquin Catholic Bulldogs stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 65-32 win over Durand. Given Aquin Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Paityn London was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 24 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. London is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hanna Broge, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Durand's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan McCallips, who scored nine points. Aurora Hilton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Aquin Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Durand, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquin Catholic will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Durand, they will play host again and welcome the Wolves, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
