They took their matchup at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 79-42 win over Valley View. Given Centennial's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Valley View is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valley View's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maurice Lynch, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Cowart, who scored 8 points.
Centennial now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Valley View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Centennial will be playing in front of their home fans against Palisades at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Valley View, they will face off against Elsinore at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
