The McNair Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by Elite Scholars Academy on the road and fell 83-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat McNair has suffered since December 12, 2023.
Despite the loss, McNair still got an impressive performance from Kente Taylor, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Williams, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Elite Scholars Academy found their leader in underclassman Jerel Clark, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Clark hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of D?allo Wiley, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
McNair's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Elite Scholars Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNair's road trip will continue as they head out to face Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Columbia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,094 points over their last 15 contests. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Eagle's Landing Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
