The Mildred Eagles will head out to square off against the Cross Roads Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mildred is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Mildred's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on LaPoynor with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Braydon Spurlock and Layton Atkeisson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Spurlock pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Atkeisson struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Spurlock has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Spurlock went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Atkeisson went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Atkeisson a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mildred let Charlie Judson and Noah Garcia run wild. Judson went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases and four runs, while Garcia went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Judson a new career-high. Caleb Harper was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Mildred kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cross Roads fell victim to Avalon and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (13-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Cross Roads dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mildred, their record is now 12-2.
Everything went Mildred's way against Cross Roads in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Mildred made off with a 7-0 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
