Legacy has gone 8-2 against Bell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will host the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Legacy has five straight wins, Bell has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bell's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Legacy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand Huntington Park a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Katelen Pedroza and Dail Dorado made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Pedroza tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dorado tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pedroza has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Pedroza went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Dorado went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other pitching news, Savannah Medina looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Isabella Medina and Priscilla Medina did most of the damage at the plate: Isabella went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Priscilla went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Stephanie Salas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .567 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Bell fell victim to Garfield and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 18-0.
Legacy pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Bell, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Legacy took their victory against Bell when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
