Biloxi hasn't had much luck against Harrison Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Biloxi Indians will host the Harrison Central Red Rebels at 6:30 p.m. Biloxi is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Biloxi fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against St. Martin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-7 to the Yellow Jackets. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellow Jackets 5-0 in the first period.
Aubrey Atchison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jolee Shaver, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Harrison Central got themselves on the board against D'Iberville on Tuesday, but D'Iberville never followed suit. They won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Rebels.
Not much got past Gabrielle Smith, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep D'Iberville off the board. Smith has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Harrison Central's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Biloxi, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Biloxi couldn't quite get it done against Harrison Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can Biloxi avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
