The Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Columbia at home and fell 73-18. Elite Scholars Academy has not had much luck with Columbia recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Elite Scholars Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taylor Johnson, who scored four points along with two steals.
Columbia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nia Anderson out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Anderson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aalon Turner, who scored 17 points along with eight steals.
Elite Scholars Academy dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Columbia, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
Elite Scholars Academy will head out on the road to square off against Redan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elite Scholars Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Columbia, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Callaway at 6:00 p.m. Callaway is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
