Baseball Recap: Winchester Wins Going Away Against Arlington

While Winchester didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Arlington Spy Ponders 7-1 on Friday. The Red & Black have beaten the Spy Ponders the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spy Ponders has come to flipping the script.

Nick Penicaud tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Winchester got a big performance out of Alex Casey, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Brendan Bock was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Winchester's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winchester will host Peabody Veterans Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Arlington, they will square off against Belmont at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
