Larned is 8-2 against Hillsboro since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m.

Hesston hit Larned with a eight-run fourth inning last Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Swathers, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Swathers since April 5, 2022.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro hadn't done well against Halstead recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Trojans walked away with a 6-1 win over the Dragons.

Hillsboro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Philpott, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Philpott is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Ashton Talkington was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Hillsboro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Larned, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Everything went Larned's way against Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Larned made off with a 9-1 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
