After a string of three wins, the West Lincoln Rebels's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 78-32 loss at the hands of East Burke. West Lincoln was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-23.
Braelyn Stilwell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for East Burke, shooting 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropping a triple-double on 30 points, nine assists, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stilwell has scored all season. Kara Brinkley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
West Lincoln's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10. As for East Burke, their win was their 20th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Lincoln will stay at home for another game and welcome Lincolnton at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd. East Burke will take on West Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Caldwell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while East Burke is ranked 36th).
