The Chickasaw Chieftains entered their tilt with the Fruitdale Pirates with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Chickasaw breezed by Fruitdale at home to the tune of 71-34. That looming 71-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Chickasaw yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chickasaw to victory, but perhaps none more so than JaVon Mose, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Marvin Brooks was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Chickasaw has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Fruitdale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chickasaw will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bryant has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. Fruitdale will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Leroy at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Hopefully Leroy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
