The Foresthill Wildfires are taking a road trip to challenge the Buckingham Charter Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Foresthill sitting on three straight victories and Buckingham Charter on nine.
On Monday, Foresthill made easy work of Leroy Greene Academy and carried off a 15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildfires, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Lynnsey Drone made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Foresthill got a massive performance out of Ashtyn Keon, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was Keon's first of the season. Breanna Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Charter got the win against Valley Christian on Monday by a conclusive 17-2. Considering the Knights have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Foresthill, Buckingham Charter also got a great game from a two-way player: Haley Griffin. She struck out 14 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Griffin was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Tamia Cendejas was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Burrell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Buckingham Charter's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Foresthill, their record is now 7-4.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Foresthill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Buckingham Charter struggles in that department as they've averaged .607. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Foresthill came up short against Buckingham Charter when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 5-1. Can the Wildfires avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
