Softball Recap: Spirit of Life Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Mintz Christian Academy

After only one run in their last game, Spirit of Life Christian Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mintz Christian Academy on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over the Lions. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Haylee Dudley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off seven RBI, four runs, and three doubles while going 4-for-5. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bailey Parker, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her seven plate appearances.

Spirit of Life Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Mintz Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Spirit of Life Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Village Christian Academy on the 15th. As for Mintz Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-4 loss against Northwood Temple Academy on the 14th.
