The Tri-State Christian Huskies waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Unity Christian at home to the tune of 67-20. Tri-State Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Tri-State Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Cunningham out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cunningham has scored all season. Nick Vannorsdel was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten rebounds and 11 assists.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samm Wilbur, who scored eight points along with three steals. Wilbur is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.
Tri-State Christian's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Unity Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-State Christian will take on Quad Cities Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Unity Christian, they will be playing at home against Morning Star Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
