Mullen has gone a perfect 10-0 against Arthur County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Mullen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 53-44 win over Brady on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.
Mullen relied on the efforts of Ben Werner, who posted 21 points and four steals, and Jacob Walker, who had 17 points along with eight boards and five steals. That's the most steals Walker has posted since back in January of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Werner, who put up six points and six rebounds.
Mullen was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brady only posted five.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arthur County). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Sutherland 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since January 17, 2025.
Arthur County's win came from a few key players that Mullen will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Camden Mironenko, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 boards. He has become a key player for Arthur County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zac Hanna, who earned 17 points and four steals.
Mullen's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Arthur County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mullen has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30 boards per game. However, it's not like Arthur County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mullen beat Arthur County 43-33 in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Do the Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
