The Trinity Academy Tigers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 39-27 win over Wake Christian Academy. Given Trinity Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Wake Christian Academy is ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Wake Christian Academy had strong showings from Emma Crissman, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Caroline Hall, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds. Crissman hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Trinity Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Wake Christian Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cary Christian the next time they take the court. Trinity Academy will head out to face Cary Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Wake Christian Academy will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
