Sam Yoo and Bryce Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Yoo struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Brown pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single hit in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Yoo went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Brown went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Brown has become a key player for King's Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, King's Christian let Levi Smith and Aiden Lawlor run wild. Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Lawlor went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. What's more, Lawlor posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in June of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matty Pancurak, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
King's Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Academy only posted an OBP of .211.
Gloucester County Christian never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cumberland Christian on Monday. They blew past the Crusaders 15-3. The Conquerors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on David Dellarova, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. JD Greenwood was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Gloucester County Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for King's Christian, their record is now 9-5.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. King's Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .507.
