The D'Iberville Warriors were the 37-34 winner over the St. Martin Yellow Jackets when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. D'Iberville took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Martin on Friday. D'Iberville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
D'Iberville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lalysia Evans, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Anayah Towner, who scored 11 points.
D'Iberville's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9. As for St. Martin, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
D'Iberville will head out on the road to square off against Ocean Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocean Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while D'Iberville is ranked 75th). As for St. Martin, they will take on Pensacola at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
