On Saturday, Cumberland Academy ended up a good deal behind Village Tech and lost 63-47. Cumberland Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Isaiah Thomas was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with eight rebounds for Village Tech. Thomas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew May, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Cumberland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Village Tech, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Mabank at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mabank is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Village Tech will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Laredo LBJ at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th.
