Shipley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 63-47 bruising from Westtown. While losing is never fun, Shipley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while Westtown is ranked 101st).
Despite the defeat, Shipley had strong showings from Henry Rassmussen, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Matt Lange, who scored 13 points along with three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Stevie Maniatis, who scored six points.
Shipley has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Westtown, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Shipley will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cross Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. As for Westtown, Westtown and Academy of the New Church will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
