Baseball Recap: North Rockland Wins Going Away Against Warwick

North Rockland won the last time they faced Warwick and things went their way on Saturday too. The Raiders put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 14-2 win. Considering the Raiders have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

North Rockland got a great performance from Eyen Rosario as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Tyler Prisco and Derek Leitner did most of the damage at the plate: Prisco got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Leitner went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Leitner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe Reyes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

North Rockland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for North Rockland and bumps their season record up to 11-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Warwick, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, North Rockland is taking a road trip to face off against John Jay at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Warwick, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Cornwall Central at 4:15 p.m.
