University School of Jackson and Tipton-Rosemark Academy pushed the score to 62-0 the last time they played Tipton-Rosemark Academy, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Bruins walked away with a 17-7 win over the Rebels. The 17-point effort marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jackson Pugh was his usual excellent self, rushing for 127 yards.

University School of Jackson didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Tipton-Rosemark Academy to a completion percentage of just 38.9%. The Bruins weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.8%.

Despite the loss, Tipton-Rosemark Academy still got an impressive performance from Nix Fullen, who rushed for 185 yards and one TD. Fullen's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.

University School of Jackson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.8 points on average over those games. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

University School of Jackson will host Jackson Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Bruins' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups.
