The Powell County Wardens will be playing at home against the Loyola-Sacred Heart Rams at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Powell County has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Loyola-Sacred Heart will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Friday, Powell County came up short against Drummond and fell 40-30. Powell County has not had much luck with Drummond recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Loyola-Sacred Heart stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 64-10 win over Arlee. Given Loyola-Sacred Heart's advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Arlee is ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Powell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Loyola-Sacred Heart, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Powell County took a serious blow against Loyola-Sacred Heart in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 58-19. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Powell County was down 40-10.
