The Manchester Greyhounds are taking a road trip to square off against the Peebles Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.
Manchester will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Monday. The Greyhounds never let the Blue Jays get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 11 runs or more this season.

Rylie Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, Elliana Applegate was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since April 1st. Another player making a difference was Mahayla Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Peebles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to Southeastern.
Kaelyn Musser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Peebles saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Myers, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Manchester has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Peebles, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Manchester's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Greyhounds have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Peebles, though, as they've been averaging only 0.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Manchester continue to outrun the ball?
Manchester took their win against Peebles in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
