Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Susquenita walked away with it. They never let the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Monday. The win was just business as usual for the Blackhawks, who after 21 games remain undefeated this season.
Ayahna Fleisher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Esther Feltenberger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Tierney Stuempfle was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.
Susquenita always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Philipsburg-Osceola only posted an OBP of .263.
Susquenita pushed their record up to 21-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8.
As of now, neither Susquenita nor the Mountaineers have any future games scheduled.
