Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Wayne Northrop to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khala Williams-Thomas, who scored 18 points along with six steals and two blocks. Williams-Thomas hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Swynn Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four blocks.
Meanwhile, South Bend Washington put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 69-27 victory over South Bend Adams at home. The victory was just what South Bend Washington needed coming off of a 75-52 loss in their prior match.
South Bend Washington can attribute much of their success to Ryiah Wilson, who scored 20 points along with eight steals, and Kira Reynolds, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 blocks. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makyla McNeal, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Fort Wayne Northrop has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for South Bend Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Wednesday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Fort Wayne Northrop have been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 41.9% of their threes per game. However, it's not like South Bend Washington struggles in that department as they've made 46.7% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
