Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Eimesse Essis stepped things up a notch to give Tustin the 'W'. Essis was unstoppable, rushing for 186 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 44 receiving yards.
Unfortunately for Cypress, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Essis. Essis rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry the last time he and the Centurions duked it out back in October of 2023.

While Western couldn't topple Capistrano Valley on Friday, it's impossible to ignore the impact made by underclassman Chance Thomas. Thomas was unstoppable, throwing for 331 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 43 yards.
