The biggest upset of the week belonged to Spring Valley, who took down 286th ranked Byram Hills, 22-8. Myles Tash threw for five yards and ran for 89 yards in the win.
Somers extended the longest winning streak in Section 1 A - 2 this week by beating Poughkeepsie, 23-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Ossining's dynamic duo of Justin Davidov and Kayvon Murray proved tough for Pelham Memorial to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Davidov threw for 73 yards and one touchdown and Murray had 37 yards receiving. Michael O'Connor helped Ossining's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Stefano Bicknese was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 140 yards on 20 carries as Somers defeated the Pelicans. Teammate Joseph Lombardo added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
On the ground, Tony Dematteo's team's Bicknese has rushed for 559 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Joe Festo. The Somers star has 12 catches for 172 yards.
A big matchup in Section 1 A - 2 this week will be when the Tuskers take on Dan Ricci's team. Somers is currently in first, while Ossining is in eighth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Tuskers and Ossining face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Somers comes in having scored 132 this season, while Ossining has scored 124. The Tuskers scored 23 points last week as they topped the Pioneers.
The Tigers moved up to 358 from 426 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Spring Valley was able to make the jump by beating the Bobcats 22-8.
