Eureka had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn Rockets. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Eureka's win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka will square off against Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn, they are taking a road trip to challenge Midland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
