The Charlotte Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Paul II.
Leading John Paul II to victory were Eliseo Garcia and Joseph Mata. Garcia dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Mata dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Masun Lara, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for John Paul II, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Charlotte is on the road again on Saturday and play against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 9:00 a.m. on December 16th. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. John Paul II won't have much time to rest: their next game is against George West at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully George West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
