North Callaway is 8-2 against Silex since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Callaway Thunderbirds' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Silex Owls at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though North Callaway has not done well against Bowling Green recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. North Callaway took down Bowling Green 52-36. Given North Callaway's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Bowling Green is ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Riley Blevins, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Kymorie Myers, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Silex's and Van-Far's game on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Silex turned on the heat in the second half with 31 points. Silex blew past Van-Far 53-33.
North Callaway's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Silex, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
North Callaway skirted past Silex 49-46 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Callaway since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
