Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Nature Coast Tech Sharks walked away with it. They strolled past the Leopards with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 54-39. The win was familiar territory for Nature Coast Tech who now have four in a row.
Nature Coast Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaida Grier out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Isabella Castillo O was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Hernando's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayla Holloman, who scored 19 points, and Ayana Kincade who scored 14 points. Holloman hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games.
Nature Coast Tech now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Hernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.
Nature Coast Tech will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Weeki Wachee at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Nature Coast Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Wednesday. Hernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
