Marshall Academy dropped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.8 points per game. As for Battle Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Marshall Academy was dealt a bruising 53-10 defeat at the hands of the Tigers in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marshall Academy was down 33-4.
