In what's become a running theme this season, the Xavier College Prep Gators gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Basha at home to the tune of 88-40. The win was nothing new for Xavier College Prep as they're now sitting on four straight.
Xavier College Prep had a senior duo take command as Dominique Nesland scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Jasmine Olivar scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. Nesland has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Irene (Noelle) Guiamatsia, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Xavier College Prep pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Basha, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Xavier College Prep and Hamilton will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hamilton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Xavier College Prep likes a good challenge. As for Basha, they will head out on the road to face off against Corona del Sol at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Corona del Sol is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
