Westbrook is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Ira is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Westbrook Wildcats will take on the Ira Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Westbrook scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Trent 91-16 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Ethan King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brannon Larson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Even though Ira has not done well against Hermleigh recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ira put the hurt on Hermleigh with a sharp 61-37 victory. Ira pushed the score to 51-28 by the end of the third, a deficit Hermleigh had little chance of recovering from.
Westbrook's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Ira, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Westbrook against Ira in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 74-30 victory. With Westbrook ahead 35-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
