Hale Ray and Coginchaug Regional are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Noises will head out to square off against the Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hale Ray is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Hale Ray made easy work of Portland and carried off a 21-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Noises.
Lily Jahne made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hale Ray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Portland only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Coginchaug Regional hadn't done well against Old Lyme recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Wildcats.
Like Hale Ray, Coginchaug Regional also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Allen. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Allen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Bearor and Lily Montgomery did most of the damage at the plate: Bearor went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Montgomery went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ava Ekblade, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Hale Ray's record is now 10-3. As for Coginchaug Regional, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Hale Ray has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Coginchaug Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Hale Ray's way against Coginchaug Regional when the teams last played back in April, as Hale Ray made off with a 10-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Noises since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
