2A-2 Region IV District 14 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Rogers led 2A-2 Region IV District 14 in scoring this week after putting up 76 points on Schulenburg.
Blanco's dynamic duo of Sam Isenberg and Colton Childress proved tough for Jarrell to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Isenberg threw for 126 yards and one touchdown and Childress had 86 yards receiving. Tim Goodman helped Blanco's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.
Cash Flot was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 131 yards on 19 carries as Lexington bested the Cougars.
On the ground, the Shorthorns' Jyron McKenzie has rushed for 616 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jeffrey Lara. The Schulenburg star has 25 catches for 631 yards.
A big matchup in 2A-2 Region IV District 14 this week will be when the Eagles take on Blanco. As it stands, Lexington is in third, while Danny Rogers' team is in fifth.
Childress broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 77-yard scamper against Jarrell. Childress closed out the game, recording 104 yards on the ground as the Panthers topped the Cougars.
