Memorial Lutheran pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Beren Academy. Memorial Lutheran has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Memorial Lutheran still got an impressive performance from David Porter, who scored 21 points. Porter scored a full 38.2% of Memorial Lutheran's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Benjamin Smith was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Memorial Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Beren Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Memorial Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Baytown Christian at 6:30 p.m. As for Beren Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Brazosport Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
