It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Heritage Christian Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-50 victory over the Golden Eagles. 67 seems to be a good number for Heritage Christian as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Heritage Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joslyn Marshall out in front who scored 21 points. Mya Davis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kori Dues, who scored nine points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Bills, who scored ten points.
Heritage Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Guerin Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
Heritage Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. Guerin Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
