Baseball Recap: Bartlett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Father Ryan last Friday, Bartlett came back down to earth. The Bartlett Panthers fell just short of the White Station Spartans by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

With the loss, Bartlett broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for White Station, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bartlett Panthers challenge Baldwin County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bartlett's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Baldwin County's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for White Station, they will square off against Memphis East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games White Station has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
