After flying high against Altamonte Christian last Friday, Lake Howell came back down to earth. The Lake Howell Silverhawks fell just short of the Ribault Trojans by a score of 58-55 on Saturday. The Silverhawks' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Lake Howell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Janiel De Los Santos, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points. De Los Santos' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Buckley, who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points and six rebounds.
Jamian Jackson was his usual excellent self, going 13 of 18 on his way to 30 points along with six boards and five blocks for Ribault. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Toure, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points.
Lake Howell's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2. As for Ribault, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Lake Howell and Ribault should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Lake Howell (ranked 33rd) will meet Hagerty (ranked 280th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Howell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Ribault (ranked 44th) will meet Paxon School For Advanced Studies (ranked 227th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
