On the hitting side, Coal City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Baldauf, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Pontiac's offense. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-0 walloping at the hands of Wilmington on Wednesday. Pontiac has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Coal City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pontiac, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Coal City's way against Pontiac in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 as Coal City made off with an 18-8 win.
