It was a good run, but the Estero Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lehigh. While losing is never fun, Estero can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while Lehigh is ranked 179th).
Estero lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brady Knutson, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Knutson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Lee Eckman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Estero now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Lehigh, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Estero will head out on the road to square off against Cape Coral at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lehigh won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tampa Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th.
