5A Region III District 19 recap December 3, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A Region III District 19 this week, Katy beat Fort Bend Elkins 56-26. The victory was the 13th in a row for the Tigers.
Katy took down the Knights 56-26 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle Porter ran for 143 yards and caught 2 passes for 51 yards in the win.
6-foot-1 quarterback Colby Chapman of Strake Jesuit is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,980. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sam Straughan. The Cinco Ranch star has 45 catches for 854 yards.
In 173 carries Dwyer Bucey has accumulated 949 yard this year.
So far this year, Luke Klingler has thrown for 1,912 yards with 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Gary Joseph's team led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on Fort Bend Elkins. Porter ran for 143 yards and caught 2 passes for 51 yards during the win.
