Two dominant guards in Titus Boone and Ryan Clifton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Big Valley Christian Lions will host the Calaveras Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Valley Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.1 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Big Valley Christian ended up a good deal behind Bret Harte and lost 63-49.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Boone, who went 7 for 12 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. His evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Lung, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points.
Meanwhile, everything went Calaveras' way against Summerville on Friday as Calaveras made off with a 72-51 win. The Red Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Calaveras' win came from a few key players Big Valley Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Connor Fuller, who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Clifton was another key player, putting up 19 points and six assists.
Calaveras smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Calaveras' victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Big Valley Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Big Valley Christian has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 34.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Calaveras struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Big Valley Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Calaveras in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-59 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Calaveras' Corbin Curran, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and six boards. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Big Valley Christian to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
