The Rivermont Collegiate Lions lost against the Quad Cities Christian Eagles two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The contest between Rivermont Collegiate and the Eagles wasn't particularly close, with the Lions falling 61-43. Rivermont Collegiate has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Rivermont Collegiate had strong showings from Eamon Matlock, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, and Dominic Coles, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Matlock has scored all season. Tahir Kaplan was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Rivermont Collegiate struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Quad Cities Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Karl out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Karl has scored at least a third of Quad Cities Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Cobie Becker-Paradiso, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Rivermont Collegiate now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Quad Cities Christian, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rivermont Collegiate will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quad Cities Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th.
