I Northern - High Desert recap Oct. 23, 2012
Reed extended the longest winning streak in I Northern - High Desert this week by beating Reno, 44-2. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
McQueen took down Hug 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Mark Nowaczewski was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 165 yards on 18 carries as Reed defeated the Huskies. Ty Shepard also contributed to the rushing game with 113 yards on the ground.
Chaney was the best wideout in the league this week as Ernie Howren's team bested Reno. Chaney tallied five receptions for 114 yards. Devin Gray helped Reed's passing attack out by catching nine balls for 81 yards.
Hunter Fralick put up the best numbers through the air as Spanish Springs defeated North Valleys. He finished with a total of 20 completions for 269 yards and three touchdowns. Fralick's favorite target this week was Vance Lively, who caught eight passes for 101 yards.
Reed's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nowaczewski has thrown for 2125 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Gray has 72 catches for 975 yards. Shepard leads the league in rushing with 1057 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Cougars and the Raiders. Spanish Springs enters the contest ranked 13th in the state, while Reed ranks 16th.
The Raiders' Gray needs only 25 receiving yards against Scott Hare's team to crack 1,000 for the season.

Reed made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,279 from 4,395. The improvement came about via a 44-2 victory over the Huskies last week.
