North Central Kansas recap November 5, 2013
Wamego lost to Hayden 57-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyler Alderson was a bright spot for the Red Raiders, as he threw for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 17 yards in the defeat.
Chapman and McPherson played the closest game in North Central Kansas this week, with Chapman eventually emerging with a 50-46 victory.
He was 15-28 with 1 interception.
Ricky Huse made the biggest impact on defense this week as Clay Center bested Concordia. The 5-foot-9 junior nabbed 1 interception.
Alderson put up the best numbers in passing as Wamego lost to the Wildcats. Alderson's favorite target this week was Trenton York, who caught 3 passes for 120 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Dale Burkeholder's team's Alderson and York have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Alderson has thrown for 2,133 yards this season, while York has 36 catches for 861 yards. Drake Hake from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 797 yards.
The Fighting Irish led the league in scoring this week by notching 50 points on the Bullpups.
