The West Ranch Wildcats waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Saugus by a score of 73-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
West Ranch had a senior duo take command as James Evans scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Bishop Brooks scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The game was Evans 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Prince Okonkwo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
West Ranch's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Saugus, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Ranch will take on Valencia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Valencia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 366th, while West Ranch is ranked 81st). As for Saugus, they will be playing at home against Hart at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hart knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Saugus likes a good challenge.
